Week 1 Discussions and Learning Activities Topic 2

Q In these discussions, you are asked to respond to at least 2 other classmate posts per topic with meaningful, positive comments. "Good job!" or "Me too" is not meaningful. Instead, be specific and share your thoughts about the stated topic, based on your experience and the literature. As a reminder, keep discussions on task and not off the main topic. Always check your spelling before you submit. I look forward to reading your posts and learning more about you. Feel free to communicate your message in an advanced way, such as audio, video or a Web 2.0 tool. If you choose this option, it would also be helpful to post a text version. Topic #2 - Strategic Role of Training and Development During this week's discussions, we have reviewed the strategic role of training and development in organizations. Several training areas offer specific value to organizations: new hire orientation, diversity and inclusion, anti-harassment/anti-discrimination, skills training, and safety training. Select one of these areas and explain its role within an organization's training and development strategy. Support your position with at least one scholarly source from the class resources (provide citation).

Safety training is important for every organizational member because of the ways in which natural hazards, man-made disasters, human or animal-intervention, etc. are becoming enhanced in the present situation. The enhancement in the overall percentage of human population globally can be considered to be another cause for safety training to be learned and known by organizational individuals. There must be every organizational member made aware of all the available safety measures which can be taken effectively to save the lives of maximum number of organizational individuals in crisis situations (Frost, 2018). The awareness can be developed by means of continuous and constant training in safety.
